Manchester Aquatics Centre

xsign were appointed to provide the internal and external signage and wayfinding scheme for the redevelopment of Manchester Aquatics Centre, partnering with architects Pozzoni and contractor, Kier.

The redevelopment of the Aquatics centre is part of the city council’s efforts at becoming zero carbon across its estate by 2038. The £31m project has has helped to upgrade a number of the centre’s energy systems and facilities. The centre hosted the World Para Swimming Championships in July 2023.

Our signage scheme has provided accessible wayfinding alongside modern iconography and high contrast branding for excellent legibility, whilst utilising environmentally friendly inks and materials to help the scheme contribute to the city’s zero carbon goal.
