Chorlton High School, Manchester
xsign were appointed by BAM Construction and Architect, Pozzoni, to provide an internal and external signage scheme at Chorlton High School in Manchester. The appointment required close coordination with both the contractor and the design team to ensure the signage scheme integrated with the architectural language of the building from the earliest stages of the project. In a secondary school environment, signage must balance the practical demands of directing large numbers of students efficiently with the opportunity to reinforce school identity and create a positive sense of place. The combination of the Jigsaw and Puzzle product sets alongside bespoke stainless steel external lettering works superbly.
Internally, our signage scheme features our Jigsaw and Puzzle patented product set, alongside graphics and iconography to aid wayfinding and navigation in the modern education facility.
Externally, we have designed, manufactured and installed a series of cut stainless steel letters that depict the school branding and provide wayfinding reference at the entrance to the building.
