Royal Papworth Hospital

dlinexsign ltd have partnered with the Royal Papworth Hospital Trust and Skanska to deliver a suite of signs to the relocated Royal Papworth Hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Royal Papworth is the UK’s leading cardiothoracic hospital, and its relocation to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus represented one of the most significant NHS infrastructure projects in recent years.

Working alongside Skanska on a project of this scale and complexity required a thorough understanding of healthcare wayfinding requirements, including accessibility standards, infection control considerations, and the need for signage that supports patient confidence in an often stressful environment. The Cambridge Biomedical Campus serves thousands of patients, visitors and clinical staff daily, making clarity and consistency across the entire signage scheme essential.

We’ve delivered a suite of internal, wayfinding signs which include frosted acrylic on dark grey and a range of iconography. Externally, we’ve provided a set of cut letters for the outside of the building. During the project, we’ve applied our knowledge and expertise of creating wayfinding solutions for healthcare institutions.
