The Montefiore Hospital

The Montefiore Hospital is a private hospital in Hove, part of the English coastal city of Brighton and Hove. It opened in November 2012 and is operated by Spire Healthcare, the second largest provider of private healthcare in the United Kingdom.

Renovations, which involved preserving the exterior features while removing all the old interior fittings and installing facilities such as operating theatres and consultation rooms were carried out by Nightingale Architects with oversight from the hospital’s director. The work received a “Best Refurbishment” award in the Acumen Commercial Property Awards held in Brighton in April 2012, at which the achievement of a “very good” BREEAM energy efficiency rating was noted.

The Spire Healthcare group looked for a partner to develop their wayfinding signs and branding. dlinexsign ltd developed a new series of frosted Lucite signs to enable to the client’s vision. Our signs team produced the following: – Frosted white Lucite on nickel plated spacers. This combination of materials blurs the visual focus on the material’s surface and combined with internal reflections give the material a deep crystalline quality. The Crest is laser cut and reverse coloured frosted Lucite. – Illuminated powder coated external logo sign. – Detail of frosted Lucite direction sign with digital print text Uland tragraved logo. – Lift lobby directory with four colour direct digi-print text. – Frosted Lucite projecting sign.
